Certainly yes!  The presentation includes a clear thesis or position that is emphasized by text on screen.

The student will demonstrate synthesis by creating a multimedia presentation that uses special effects, camera angles, lighting and music to influence the message
No. The student used no special effects at all, and simply filmed the PSA from start to finish.

Not really. The student used special effects, but they had no influence on the message.
Yes. The student used special effects that had some influence on the message.
Certainly yes! The student used special effects that greatly influenced the message

The student will demonstrate synthesis by creating a multimedia presentation that  effectively uses logical and ethical appeals without over-reliance on emotional appeals





No. The presentation used only emotional appeals
Not really. The presentation included some logical and ethical appeals, but relied greatly on emotional appeals.
Yes. The presentation used logical, ethical and emotional appeals evenly.
Certainly yes! The presentation used logical and ethical appeals to persuade the audience.  Emotional appeals were used sparingly.

The student will demonstrate synthesis by creating a multimedia presentation that effectively uses concession and counterargument and builds bridges between the speaker and audience as opposed to walls.
No. The student did not use concession and counterargument in the presentation.  The student made no effort to build bridges with the audience.

Not really. The student used concession and counterargument, but was not able to build bridges with the audience.
Yes. The student used concession and counterargument and was able to build at least one bridge with the audience.
Certainly yes! The student used concession and counterargument effectively and built bridges with the audience.  The student was careful not to build any walls.

The student will demonstrate synthesis by creating a multimedia presentation that excludes logical fallacies.
No. The presentation included several logical fallacies
Not really. The presentation only included one logical fallacy
Yes.
Certainly yes! The presentation excluded logical fallacies.
